Our engineers own systems from end to end, collaborating closely with internal stakeholders and exceptionally talented colleagues to develop and implement industry-leading models into our clients’ businesses.

As a deep learning engineer, you will work on the early-stage product iteration for QuantCo’s newest domain coverage. You’ll be part of a best-in-class team building cutting-edge NLP and computer vision products that are applied immediately at scale. You will be responsible for the design, development, testing, deployment, and operation of these systems; thereby, bridging the worlds of infrastructure, software engineering, and machine learning.

Core Requirements

    • MSc or PhD degree in Computer Science, Computer Vision, Machine Learning, Natural Language Understanding, or a related technical field
    • Knowledge in productionizing, i.e., writing production-ready code, deploying and optimizing Deep Learning algorithms, etc.
    • Substantial experience programming in Python and C++
    • Hands-on experience with Deep Learning algorithms, ideally as applied to or within the following fields: Computer Vision (e.g. OCR engines/optical character recognition; object detectors such as SSD, YOLO, etc.; object classification such as vision transformers, CNN, etc.) and/or Natural Language Processing (e.g. familiarity with transformer-based Natural Language models in one of the fields of: Topic Modelling, Intent Classification/ Information Extraction, or Question Answering; graph neural networks)
What We Offer

You will be part of a smart, supportive and diverse team that embraces different viewpoints and ideas; revels in finding novel solutions to challenging problems; values our clients and user base; and strives to deliver impactful and cutting-edge solutions. You will learn from and collaborate with highly skilled colleagues comprised of competitive programmers, Ivy League and Oxbridge researchers, decorated mathematical and informatics olympiads, and pioneers of groundbreaking products from companies like Amazon, Google, and Tesla.

You will also be joining a newly established team at QuantCo as we expand into Deep Learning domains. Leveraging relationships that extend to our founding, we have the commitment to deploy products that promise to have massive degrees of impact. As a founding member of the team, you will be intrinsic to its growth and continued success.

Data Science Intern (Causal Inference/Machine Learning)
QuantCo
Europe
Data Science Interns at QuantCo's European offices will learn what it takes to create impact from data: identifying the right framework and questions to translate a business challenge into a statistical problem; locating and combining data sources as well as transforming large datasets; running in-depth analyses; building machine learning models that automate large-scale decisions and integrating them into live business processes; and interpreting, visualizing, and communicating results to internal and external stakeholders.

We are looking for team players who have excellent quantitative abilities and:

    • A major, minor, or research focus in economics, statistics, mathematics, computer science, engineering, physics, or similar fields at a leading university (B.Sc., M.Sc., or PhD)
    • In-depth understanding of mathematical and statistical concepts behind most common machine learning techniques and a proven interest in causal inference questions, e.g., A/B tests
    • Experience in coding and working with data (from a previous research or industry internship or extensive course projects) using a wide range of tools and languages: Python (Pandas, XGBoost/LightGBM), R (dplyr, ggplot2), and git
    • Ability to see solutions and opportunities that others do not see
    • High level of commitment and reliability, good balance of pragmatism and perfectionism
    • Business proficiency in English and conversational proficiency in German for our German and Swiss offices

Bonus if skilled in any of the following tools and/or languages:

    • SQL
    • Tensorflow
    • Keras
    • Cloud infrastructure
    • Docker
    • Lower-level languages like C#/C++/C
What we offer

You will be part of a smart, motivated, and driven team that revels in working on challenging problems and finding novel solutions; values our customers and users; and strives to deliver thoughtful and impactful products. You will be surrounded by people that respect each other and the contributions each of us brings. We offer a generous compensation package that includes a base salary, bonus, relocation and housing support along with additional location-based benefits.
