The Data Science and Machine Learning team at Lucid is on the mission to design, develop, and deploy AI solutions to help make safe and sustainable products and services on par with Lucid’s Luxury brand. Data generated by electric vehicles is rich and diverse and driving insight from it is a very exciting and challenging task. The Full Stack developer helps tackle last mile AI and Machine Learning challenge by designing front and backend systems interacting with and serving AI systems. In this role you will be collaborating with the most brilliant talents in the automotive industry to build AI products.  

Location is flexible on west coast for exceptional candidates.

The Role

    • Work on state-of-the-art large-scale data science and machine learning projects
    • Design client and server-side architectures
    • Build front-end applications through appealing visual design
    • Write effective APIs
    • Troubleshoot, debug and upgrade software
    • Create security and data protection settings
    • Write technical documentation
    • Work with data scientists and machine learning engineers to improve software

Qualifications

    • 10+ years proven experience as Full Stack developer or similar role
    • Familiarity with common stacks
    • Knowledge of multiple front-end languages and libraries (e.g. HTML/ CSS, JavaScript, XML, jQuery)
    • Knowledge of multiple back-end languages (e.g. Python (preferred), C#, Java) and JavaScript frameworks (e.g. Angular, React, Node.js)
    • Familiarity with databases (e.g. MySQL, MongoDB), web servers (e.g. Apache) and UI/UX design
    • Good communication and presentation skills.

Education Requirements

    • Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Statistics, or relevant field
    • Masters degree preferred
Salary Range: The compensation range for this position is specific to the locations listed below and is the range Lucid reasonably and in good faith expects to pay for the position taking into account the wide variety of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions, including job-related knowledge; skillset; experience, education and training; certifications; and other relevant business and organizational factors.

The Data Scientist at Lucid is setting data science foundation for our fast-growing data team, to enable the company tackle engineering and business challenges by designing analytics and AI solutions. This opportunity involves defining the path to discover trends, patterns and hidden insights from data while collaborating with the most brilliant talents in the automotive industry to build AI products.  

The Role

    • Work on state-of-the-art large-scale data science and machine learning projects
    • Design and architecture key AI products in automotive and EV domain and lead the product implementation.
    • Help define the analytical direction and influence the direction of the Engineering teams.
    • Use mathematical techniques to arrive at an answer using data. Translate analysis results into business recommendations.
    • Partner with Engineering teams on projects to identify and articulate opportunities, see beyond the data to identify solutions that will raise the bar for decision making.
    • Extract actionable insights from broad, open-ended questions
    • Adapt machine learning and data mining algorithms to solve problems across several engineering teams
    • Use quantitative analysis and the presentation of data to see beyond the numbers and understand what can improve our processes.
    • Engage broadly with the organization to identify, prioritize, frame, and structure complex and ambiguous engineering challenges, where advanced analytics, AI and machine learning can have the biggest impact.

Qualifications

    • Advanced degree in Computer Science, Mechanical engineering, Statistics or related STEM field.
    • 5+ years of Data or Machine learning Science experience working on highly complex problems in a dynamic setting
    • Strong programming skills, especially in Python, or C/C++ with 5+ years of relevant experience in a programming intensive role.
    • Technical expertise and in-depth knowledge in one or more of the following ML topics: Anomaly detection and signal processing, time-series data analysis and modeling, Conventional Machine Learning methods, Computer Vision, Deep learning, CNNs, Natural Language Processing (NLP), Large Language Models (LLM), text mining, sentiment analysis, information retrieval, etc.
    • Proficiency with a deep learning framework such as TensorFlow, Keras, Pytorch, Caffe, MXNet, etc.
    • Relevant work experience, including experience applying advanced analytics, and data mining techniques.
    • Experience with distributed computing platforms, particularly Kubernetes or the Hadoop/Spark ecosystem

We are currently seeking a Data Scientist for the Advanced Motor Technology Team. This position requires a passionate systems modeler and data analyst with a desire to understand things both in depth and at a systems level. They will work with people from across the company to help accelerate world leading efficiency, performance, and packaging. You will:

    • Investigate data collected from vehicles, drive units, and bench tests for performance, reliability, and repeatability. 
    • Setup processes with the in-house data team to log interesting metrics and analyze single component/vehicle & fleet performance.
    • Plan and execute bench tests to further investigate physical phenomena of interest.
    • Collaborate across all vehicle and company teams, placing priority on the greater benefit of the vehicle above any one individual system.

You bring:

    • Knowledge of and passionate interest in Thermo-mechanical analysis, data analysis, visualization, and Programming.
    • Strong understanding fundamental physics and its application to real world problems.
    • Experience in batch data processing, cleaning, visualizing, and developing advanced physics-based data analysis models and heuristics.

ADAS Machine Learning Engineer – Computer Vision

As part of this position, you will work closely with experienced engineers to address intriguing and complex challenges within the ADAS/AD domain. Our team is actively gathering extensive data, amounting to Terabytes, to support autonomous driving operations. You will actively engage in multiple software development cycles, aiming to identify critical issues in AD data engines, devise resilient and scalable solutions, and successfully integrate your innovations into production.


This role is on-site at Headquarters in Newark, CA.

Responsibilities:

    • Research, develop, and deploy state-of-the-art Deep Neural Networks and Machine learning workflows for Autonomous Driving domain.
    • Develop Machine Learning algorithms from requirement gathering, data cleaning, experimentation to all the way to deploying a scalable application on the cloud.
    • Work with diverse data-domain. E.g. Camera data, Lidar point clouds, RADAR signals, GPS, and other vehicle signals timeseries.
    • Work closely with cross-functional teams, including perception, and planning & control teams to ensure seamless integration of different components of the autonomous driving system.
    • Maintain clear and comprehensive documentation of all algorithms, experiments, and development processes to facilitate knowledge sharing and future improvements.
    • Help solidify existing algorithms, and work with large amounts of real and simulation data to continuously improve performance, publish internal reports, and file patents.
    • Leverage computer vision algorithms (multiple view geometry, 3D scene reconstruction, camera calibration & transformations) to create tailor-made solutions for ADAS/AD challenges.

Required Qualifications;

    • Bachelor in Computer Science / Robotics Engineering, Electrical Engineering
    • 5+ years related experience
    • Strong proficiency in programming languages such as Python, C++, or similar for algorithm development and implementation.
    • Knowledge of OpenCV, TensorFlow/PyTorch, Scikit-learn, xgboost, Pandas, Matplotlib, Seaborn, Point Cloud Library, Numpy, etc.
    • Experience with deployment tools: Docker, Kubernetes, Pytest, AWS, SQL, Git, Linux etc.
    • Ability to write clean, efficient, and maintainable code along with version control practices using tools like Git.
    • Proven expertise in managing and handling extensive datasets. In-depth understanding of database design and query optimization.
    • Demonstrated ability to approach complex problems creatively and independently, propose innovative solutions, and adapt to changing requirements.

Preferred Qualifications;

The Role

    • Work on state-of-the-art large-scale data science and machine learning projects
    • Help define the analytical direction and influence the direction of the Engineering teams.
    • Use mathematical techniques to arrive at an answer using data. Translate analysis results into business recommendations.
    • Partner with Engineering teams on projects to identify and articulate opportunities, see beyond the data to identify solutions that will raise the bar for decision making.
    • Extract actionable insights from broad, open-ended questions
    • Adapt machine learning and data mining algorithms to solve problems across several engineering teams
    • Use quantitative analysis and the presentation of data to see beyond the numbers and understand what can improve our processes.
    • Engage broadly with the organization to identify, prioritize, frame, and structure complex and ambiguous engineering challenges, where advanced analytics, AI and machine learning can have the biggest impact.

Qualifications

    • Advanced degree in Computer Science, Mechanical engineering, Statistics or related STEM field.
    • 3+ years of Data or Machine learning Science experience working on highly complex problems in a dynamic setting
    • Strong programming skills, especially in Python, or C/C++ with 5+ years of relevant experience in a programming intensive role.
    • Technical expertise and in-depth knowledge in one or more of the following ML topics: Anomaly detection and signal processing, time-series data analysis and modeling, Conventional Machine Learning methods, Computer Vision, Deep learning, CNNs, Natural Language Processing (NLP), text mining, sentiment analysis, information retrieval, etc.
    • Proficiency with a deep learning framework such as TensorFlow, Keras, Pytorch, Caffe, MXNet, etc.
    • Relevant work experience, including experience applying advanced analytics, and data mining techniques.
    • Experience with distributed computing platforms, particularly Kubernetes or the Hadoop/Spark ecosystem
    • Experience with data presentation and visualization with tools such as Tableau, Grafana and other similar tools.
    • Proven track record of developing and deploying algorithms for a production-ready recommendation, data mining or prediction systems using languages and big data platforms such as Scala, Python, Java, Spark, Presto, and Hive
    • Excellent communication and presentation skills.

    • Develop efficient codes toward building predictive analytics from billions of time series data points
    • Partner with the battery software team to develop cutting-edge algorithms for Cloud-BMS logics toward deriving SOX estimation
    • Adopt advanced deep learning models and tools for data analysis and optimization
    • Lead the analytical direction toward profound understanding of battery performance using cell tests, module tests and fleet data

Qualifications:
