Your role 
Your primary role will be to develop firmware for the Axelera AI accelerator. Your tasks will mainly include the following: 
Design and implement firmware for the Axelera AI accelerator on a RISC-V architecture 
Contribute to the architectural definition of the design and subsystem integration 
Prototype, implement and benchmark efficient kernels for Neural Network graphs 
Develop critical firmware testing processes that are used during production 
Work with hardware engineers to bring up custom hardware prototypes, and perform testing and validation of embedded systems during development 

Your profile 
Bachelor's, Master's, or PhD in Computer Science, Engineering or a related technical field
5 years of experience in an Embedded Software Engineering role 
Experience with firmware development 
Knowledge of RISC-V architecture and tooling or other processors such as: SPARC, ARM, etc.

Your role 
You will be a primary technical contributor to the architecture, design and implementation of Axelera’s Neural Network compiler and SDK.Your tasks will mainly include the following:  
Have a leading role in the development of the Axelera NN compiler, including hands-on code contributions in diverse software engineering environments 
Work with data scientists and AI experts to develop algorithms for transforming and optimizing Neural Networks for In-Memory Computing 
Develop hardware-aware optimizations for the Axelera software stack 
Create tools for ensuring high quality in the software development process

Your profile 
Master’s or PhD in Computer Science or a related technical field

 You will have demonstrable skills in ASIC Physical Design, from RTL to GDS, including hands-on expertise in building physical design partitions from synthesis to place and route through all sign-off including timing signoff, physical verification, EMIR signoff, and formal verification.  You will have the ability to work closely with architecture/RTL teams to build successful and on-time physical partitions. 

Essential skills (/ Minimum requirements)  
- 10+ years of experience in Physical Design.

- Proven track record of implementing designs through synthesis, Floorplanning, place and route, extraction, timing, and physical verification.

Location
This is a remote position, preferably based out of one of the South West states due to the proximity to our clients.

Key responsibilities:
- Engage with customers during sales meetings to understand their unique needs and requirements 
- Serve as a technical expert on Axelera AI's platform and solutions, addressing customer inquiries and providing in-depth product knowledge 
- Document and track customer interactions, ensuring effective follow-up and communication 
- Serve as the technical expert on our products, resolving all technical issues (either directly or by coordinating with our R&D teams) that are gating items for design wins

As a PCB Layout Engineer, you will play a crucial role in designing and developing printed circuit boards that form the backbone of our state-of-the-art AI systems. This position requires translating schematic diagrams into PCB layouts, proficiency in managing CAD components libraries, and collaborating with Electronic Manufacturing Service (EMS) partners for successful PCB manufacturing and assembly.

We offer a flexible, hybrid arrangement and, if needed, international relocation support, to work from our office in Florence, Italy.
 
Your role
Your role will mainly include the following:

·      Component Library Management:
-       Maintain and update the CAD components library, ensuring it is up-to-date with the latest components, footprints, and 3D models.
-       Collaborate with the design team to identify and implement new components to support evolving product requirements.
·      Schematic to PCB Design:
-       Transform schematic diagrams into functional PCB layouts while adhering to design guidelines, ensuring signal and power integrity and EMC/EMI compliance.
-       Enhance the board space utilization in complex design by optimizing component selection, placement, and board routing
·      PCB Layout:
-       Create high-quality PCB layouts, taking into consideration critical factors such as power distribution, thermal management, and signal integrity.
-       Utilize CAD tools (e.g., Altium Designer, Xpedition, KiCad) to design multi-layer PCBs.
·      Collaboration with EMS:
-       Work closely with EMS partners to prepare PCB designs for manufacturing, ensuring they meet DFM (Design for Manufacturability) guidelines.
-       Interface with EMS during the production phase, addressing any technical issues, and providing support for successful PCB assembly.
·      Test and Validation:
-       Conduct functional tests and validate PCB designs to ensure they meet performance and reliability standards.
-       Troubleshoot and resolve any design-related issues to improve product quality.
·      Documentation: Create and maintain accurate documentation for PCB designs, including design files electrical and mechanical, BOMs, and manufacturing instructions.


Your profile
·      Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field. A Master’s degree is a plus.
·      5-10 years proven experience in PCB layout design, including multi-layer boards.
·      Proficiency with CAD tools, such as Altium Designer, Xpedition, KiCad, or similar.
·      Familiarity with PCB manufacturing processes and DFM guidelines.
·      Experience with high-speed digital and mixed-signal PCB design.
